Future Food Fayres
We are attending the Wirral Group Coeliac UK Gluten Free Food amd Accommodation Fair at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall on Saturday 6th March 2010 from 10am until 3pm. As well as having a stand selling our products we will be carrying out the catering for those attending in the restaurant. The previous fair was extremely successful and had over 900 people attending last year. If you are looking to attend this year and would like an order delivered free of charge to the venue on the day, call us on 01969 622222 prior to 26/2/2010 to arrange. We will be looking to have the majority of our range at our stand, however, if there are specific items required it would be best to call us.
The fair will be located at:-

We have been inundated with names for our new bread. After a lot of consideration we have settled on Ovencrust. Donna Barkess of Northumberland is therefore the winner of our £50 food voucher. We are now designing packaging for the bread and hope to have it on shelves everywhere very soon.
Our move is proving to be a resounding success. We can now offer more in our shop which is a lot bigger than the previous shop in Hawes. This seems to reflect the upsurge in visitors which has increased from the day we opened.
The white & seeded bread continues to be very popular. Historically bread has been difficult to successfully manufacture and was of little value excepting if used as toast. We have devleoped a gluten, wheat, dairy & egg free bread which is as near to normal bread as we have come across to date. We feel that is is better than any of the gluten free breads currently available and that is is a significant breakthrough on our part. It has the soft moist texture associated with uncut, freshly baked white bread. We also have a variation in the form of seeded bread, both breads come in the form of a 400g loaf or a pack of two individual 150g rolls.
Our retail shop and bakery is situated at Unit 4D, Leyburn Business Park, Harmby Road, Leyburn, DL8 5QA. Our new telephone number is 01969 622222. We will be offering our full range of products, and more, at our shop at the front of the bakery. Our premises are on the outskirts of Leyburn which is 12 miles from the A1 at Bedale in the heart of Wensleydale. We are opposite the visitor attractions of the Tea Pottery & Little Chocolate Shop where you can actually see products being manufactured which is quite fascinating. Then 'pop' across to the Gluten Free Kitchen to buy some gluten free shopping to take home.

From mid January 2010 our Apple Crumble and award winning Bread & Butter pudding will be available from Booths Supermarkets in the North West of England. Our 'Ready to Roll' Shortcrust pastry is already stocked by Booths and is shortly to be followed by our Ovencrust white bread.
We are very proud to announce that we have again been successful in the Foods Matter 2009 Free From Awards. We retained the winner spot in the Cakes, Muffins & Sweet Biscuits category with a joint first place with another Carrot Cake.(Our Coffee & Walnut sponge won this category in 2008). In fact the other Carrot Cake just shaded us into second place in the overall competition for the Fair Trophy. Our Xmas Cake and Bread & Butter pudding both were Highly Commended in their respective categories. See http://www.freefromfoodawards.co.uk/ for the list of winners.
200 'Free From' products were nominated for the final shortlist and we feel, that to come a very, very close second to the overall winner is testament to the fact our products are simply quite delicious. Indeed prior to the presentation by celebrity chef Antony Worral-Thompson it was explained that the judges were split regarding the two carrot cakes as to which was the best. Whilst it was a tie in the gluten free cake category the other carrot cake was given the Fair trophy as it had a better decoration topping i.e. it had pecan nuts thereon. We are still very pleased to be so close to the overall winner.
