Customer comments

We have included a selection of the nice comments that customers have made about our products. We are mindful of the ease in which businesses can be the authors of such comments so, to that end, we have retained copies of the emails which can be viewed if you visit our bakery. Complaints are rare and, in truth, were limited to the fact we weren't catering for enough diabetics, and someone who did not like fruit cake. We also had someone who complained because our email telling them of delivery had been 'spammed out'. We are always interested to know what our customers think so drop us a line or email at the address under 'Contact Us' above.

Just a quick message to let you know that the gluten free cake you baked for us ,and that was iced by Joanne @ “ Caked Up” (photo attached)

was just delicious and everyone at our celebration said how much they enjoyed it.

It was so moist and I know from experience how tricky it is to bake with gluten free flour!

I have recently discovered your products via Parravani in Beccles Suffolk. I have to say it is such a delight to buy beautiful and tasty cakes to eat out (or at home) and the pastry on your savoury pies is so short it is wonderful. I haven't enjoyed my food as much as this since I went gluten(and chocolate) free.

I trust that it will help the company in some way because I have not found any other gluten free products that come up to your standards. There is also no company in my area that make gluten free products and I find the supermarket products are awful!!

I live in the south, though when I return to my native north I face the painful experience of witnessing my family tucking-in to my mother's legendary home-baked pies and cakes. It's been over a decade since I was diagnosed as a coeliac and though many have tried to satisfy my hunger for fabulous pastry and moist cakes, the rock-hard and sticky GF variants that I have tried in the past (both home-made and commercially manufactured) have never hit the spot...that is until today.

When my niece hinted that she was going to send me a carrot cake I had a mental image of a car crash in a box; how wrong I was. The cake was ordered online on Sunday and delivered, as pledged, today (Wednesday). It was packed really well and as I opened the box I found it in an off-the-shelf condition. I couldn't resist and after eating a slice - OMG, it tasted fantastic and moist, but not sticky - it took a lot of self control to not go for a second slice!

I was surprised to find a sausage roll and a pork pie in the box too and as lunchtime had arrived, and as the cake was so good, I couldn't resist... The pastry tasted so 'real' that I had to check it was GF!

Just received a call from Stephen who stated he wanted everyone to know how good we are!! We really do try and give the best service possible and it is rewarding when we received testimonials such as his.

Not many days before my September 3rd wedding (we arranged within 5 weeks) I had not been successful in finding a GF cake for my wife and a handful of guests. I was willing to make one myself but came across the GF Kitchen. They turned round a lovely cake, decorated and dispatched in quick time and made some gluten-intolerant guests very happy! The icing on the cake (forgive the feeble pun) was the kind and sensitive and confident service I received. I'm coming back - in fact I'm just about to place an order. You should too - you won't be disappointed.

I just wanted to say that the rich fruit birthday cake arrived on the day you said it would. I took it to Fort Willliam the following week as it was my brother-in-law's birthday and both my sister and I are glutenfree. We ate the cake on the Fort William to Mallaig steam train with other friends and we were really impressed with the cake...it was lovely and moist and delicious. If you visit Scotland...go on that train...the scenery is spectacular!

I am writing to say how good your company is i was diagnosed with coeliac at 11 months old and i am now nearly 46 it has been a struggle to get good quality food without the effort and time of making my own.
I discovered your company last year while i was looking for some party food and i was really pleased with the quality and choice i have ordered twice more since then i love your selection box of cakes it is a real treat for me .
Your food makes life pleasant for people on a gluten free diet i always look forward to seeing my white box of food which is always well packaged.

Hi my husband and I called in Monday afternoon ( from Preston on the way up to south shields) for the first time. I bought some goodies and just wanted to say ; the bread i had some for breakfast this morning and was so nice to have moist soft bread for first time in 7 months, the cakes i started when we got back home today - walnut and lemon have disappeard and our cat ran off with the wrapper and licked it clean. The steak pasty - wheat and dairy free one - i had for tea and was just so yummy, pastry so tasty and light and soft in a nice way and the filling was really tasty!
Thank you for making such gorgeous food - cant wait to devour the rest of the bread, cakes and chicken pie. Pastry has made it to the freezer whilst i think what to cook.

I just wanted to really thank you for the most delicious fruit cake I have ever eaten !! It was so beautifully moist and tasty and didn't crumble to bits like my homemade ones do. I'm gonna have to order another one for Christmas now, though maybe not such a big one.
it tasted fantastic and just so home-madey and really,really good. Thank you for all your help in getting it to us and for the lovely, personal service. I loved the fact that when I phoned to order it you said you were just off to the kitchen to feed the cake. I could almost smell the wonderful baking aromas ! My only complaint was that because it was so good there wasn't enough leftovers! Roll on Christmas.

I'm sure you must get this all the time but I wanted to give you a huge thank you for your wonderful products. I don't know if you remember but we took a detour from Northumberland to our holiday in the Lakes at the end of June to visit your 'Kitchen'. It was, quite frankly, the best detour we've ever taken.
Everything we bought was absolutely delicious and made me feel 'normal' again.

Hello again, we popped in to your shop about 3.55 today and bought a bakewell tart.
We live near Whitby, North Yorkshire, and went on to have gluten free fish & chips in Hawes then got back here and thorougly enjoyed your tart. It was really delicious. As I have done all my own baking for years it is frustrating not being able to achieve such good results with gf. Your pastry was superb , any useful tips or recipes for pastry you are willing to share with me would be much appreciated.

thankyou for the most informative website of goodies i can eat, i suffer from i.b.s and have discovered i am intollerant to gluten,dairy and eggs, so for years of being able to eat anything to now not being able to i was in food heaven lokking at all your goodies, even birtthday cake and crumbles, thankyou for giving me my life back and even though i live in south manchester, i shall be having a drive out to you someday, just a quick question though, is your food freezable? and if so how long for, not that it would last long enough get to the freezer, i think i'd be on an eat-a-thon!!!

Just wanted to say thank you for helping make my birthday special - your coffee and walnut sponge is the best cake I've tasted since being diagnosed in 2005. On my birthday I sat with pork pie, a sundried tomatoe roll and a slice of cake (all ordered from the gluten free kitchen), with a big smile on my face - it made my day!!

Your pork pies and steak pies were absolutely delicious,they alone were worth the 120 mile trip from Harrogate.Along with a friend of mine who is a Coeliac we will certainly be buying more of your products.We were really looked after well by a young lady who was most helpful.It really is good that you have a wide selection of products.PS Have tried some of your puddings at at a local pub they were really tasty even my wife who is not a Coeliac said how nice they were.

The goods arrived on Weds morning. Both the cakes and the pies were delicious it's the first pie I've eaten since being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease.
